Students will read the questions for each of the three stories and choose one to answer. They will watch the news and then write a thought-filled and detailed response about the story. If time permits they will share their ideas in a class discussion.

Today: Students will complete yesterday's HDI Graphing Assignment and turn it in. Then they'll take part in a discussion of their thoughts about graphing data and why it is so important for their learning in social studies.

Activity:
Students will complete fill in the blank notes about the Climate Zones/Latitude Belts of the Earth with information from a power point. 

Next, students will make corrections to their copies of the Climate Zones/Latitude Belts Diagram from yesterday's class.

Objective:
Students will gain an understanding of the climates found on Earth and be able to use that information to draw conclusions about life, cultures, and peoples in various places in the world throughout the year.

Objectives:

     Students will read three prompts and choose one of them to write a paragraph constructed response. They will view the news broadcast and then write in detail using their ever-increasing writing skills. Finally, we will discuss the news stories in class to express opinion and spark discussion.
