Activity: Today is our final class time to finish up our SS Standards Project. The project is due first thing tomorrow. Make sure you use all of the documents, rubric, & example I attached in my blog last week before you decide you're finished and you turn it in through Google Classroom.

As always, please ask me for assistance if you need it.

Homework: finish the project if you haven't completed it by the end of class.

Activity: Students will continue their work on the SS Standards Project. Students will work on research and adding all their information into a Google Slides Presentation (or other approved format). 

The project needs to be completed and ready for turn in by Tuesday morning September 1.

Activity: SS Standards Project Day #2 - students will begin their work breaking down the standards into 7th grade friendly terms in order to create their slide presentation and to gain a better understanding of the social studies standards.

Activity: Writing Wednesday #1 - Current Events CNN Student News from 8/25
Students will read the prompts to several current news stories and then view the news from CNN Student News. They will then choose one story that interests them and write to the prompt questions. 

Check your Google Classroom page for the necessary prompt question document that you will type your response in. The mp4 clip is linked there as well.

Homework: None......if you finish your writing in class.

Objective: Students will learn about the four (4) social studies content standards to develop an understanding of the framework of our learning this year. Each student will get a hard copy of the state standards in order to break down the official state lingo and put it into a more "7th grade friendly" terminology. 

*We will be working on this for three full class periods ending this Friday. Students will follow specific directions, the rubric, and a helpful guidelines sheet to create their Google Slides Presentation.

Welcome to 7th Grade Social Studies!

I am extremely excited for you to join my class this year and for all the amazing learning opportunities we will share.

Objective: Getting to know a whole bunch of new 'stuff'. We will be learning the "lay of the land" so to speak (what's in my classroom and how do we access it). Also, we will be doing some getting to know you activities.
